3. I currently live in an old neighborhood on the outskirts of town. I have never moved from here in my life and my house is over 115 years old. I know many of the families in my neighborhood but many of them do not have children my age. The average age of the people in my hood is older that 40 i would say so most kids have moved out. I live a short bike ride away from a general food store, me and my friends used to ride our bikes there all the time. I also live right next to walterville pond where we used to go swim and catch newts. I loved growing up in this safe neighborhood, there was never any danger and was always something to do.

5. Justice in my mind is an outcome of a situation that is the right outcome because of the people involved or the actions they take. If someone is committing crimes and they are brought to justice then justice has been served. The most unjust occurence i have ever heard of is the two cops in New York who shot a man 51 times and then they were acquitted.

6. My personal differences has cause problems in the past because at times i can be confident, not cocky, but some people view me as cocky. I try not to see the personal difference in people if it is something i do not like about them, i just try to ignore that trait.
I am very close to my friends and would do anything for them so i would definitely defend them if someone was intolerable to their personal differences, if it came to fists, i would definitely throw down.

Last Spring break i traveled to a mountain that holds the world record for snowfall in one season. Mt.Baker recieved over 1,140 inches of snow in the 1998-1999 winter. I traveled there with my two best friends, Jordan Loos and Jordan DeMoss. Loos’s parents rented an RV for the week anbd we were off. For the duration of the ride we ate nachos and played apples to apples while dealing with the horrible dogs. We had to bring along two smelly, stinky, and shedding yellow labs.

When we arrived in Glacier, Washington after our fifteen hours of straight driving, we were exhausted. We pulled in and slept in the RV in the corner of the parking lot. We woke up to ten inches of dry, fluffy, canadian snow. Mt.Baker, Washington is magnificent. The mountain is bigger than anything we have ever
rode down. We were incredibly anxious to get the first chair. When the lift finally started running at 9:00 a.m. we were the first people on it. We rode the incredible wind lips, drops, and found special places there all day. We did this for three days solid, by the end of the trip i could barely move because my legs were so tired. We would have rode for another two weeks or more but our time here was coming to an end. The ride home was unwelcomed but it was time. The fifteen hour ride home was full of sleep for all three of us. I will never forget this spring break. We all had a great time, we will have great memories forever and more importantly, no one got hurt.

I have switched books and am now reading Soujourn by R.A. Salvatore. The insight i gained about the main character, Drizzt, was that he was so used to he underdark that now the sun deteriorates his clothes and boots. Thus, making him even more vulnerable to the world he has discovered. “It burned my eyes and pained every part of my body. it destroyed my piwafwi and boots, and stole the magic from my armor.” pg. 3, R.A. Salvatore

The thoughts i have on text messages are that they are an extremely fast, easy to use way of communicating with friends and family. You can use them in any place without noise or the distraction of a phone call. I send probably around 100 to 150 texts a day depending on the day. I regularly text 4 or 5 different people a day. My best friends, a girl depending on the relationship we have and just someone to talk to if im bored. I do not think text messaging effects my actual writing at all, it used to but i can switch easily back and forth between actual writing and text message modes. I believe its place can be anywhere if used at the correct times. Aslong as you are listening attentively to the teacher and not being distracted then its ok. Text messages don’t change the way i talk and interact with people. I only use it when needed. That is my view on text messaging.

A blog is a way of communicating online about different topics or your opinions on a certain subject. Blogs were unfamiliar to me until i joined this class. This is the second blog ive ever written. I am extremely comfortable with computers because i have spent long hours on them slaving over homework, myspace, and gear websites. On the computer i typically write essays for history or order new snowboard gear or clothes. My opinion of writing is that i do not typically enjoy it but it is a way for some people to express themselves but is usually not my choice for that. I like to write imaginitive short stories. There is many child predators out there and there is people online who steal identies and credit cards. The internet can be dangerous if abused. Myspace, email, homework are things my friends use the computer for. I think it will be better for me than writing on paper.

I am currently reading Sojourn by R.A. Salvatore. This is the third book in this series. I have read the two before it aswell. This series was recommended to me by a very old man that has owned a small bookstore in eugene for 45 years. Probably the most interesting man i have ever met. I wish there was more books around like this series. The title didnt really draw me to it because i already knew what i was gonna read. This genre is my favorite by far in books, it just keeps me on the edge at times and laughing at other times. Very enjoyable read.
